Professional Practice and Engagement - Week 1

NOT MY CAMERA
FILM CAMERA
Object | Show & Tell

This is not just an ordinary film camera because my friend lend it to me when he heard that I was looking for a film camera. When I first got this film camera, the light meter was broken. So I need to use mobile application to measure the light instead. As the time pass by, my skill levels up, I stop using those application and .. guess for the right one instead.

I love taking photos because it can collect the moment that I want to remember. Even the photo is just 2D image, when I look onto it the pass memories flashback and play in my head in 3D format. With the digital camera, I just press, press, and press the button and capture tons of image. In opposite way, this film camera taught me to calm down, think carefully, choose the right composition, moving my body back and fourth, and moving the camera up and down until I see the right one, before I press the button. Not only it benefit me for my creative practice but also to be an vigorous observant person.

Manytimes, when I hold this camera and take pictures around. For example, to the protest in Thailand, to Dust Zoo, to Central World last Christmas, and to some bar in Civic. Strangers said Hi! to me, said that the camera is nice, and so on. I feel really surprised everytime people talk to me just because they like this camera. I love those moments though! So far, I love traveling to many places with this camera, such as to the beach, to Chiang Mai, to China, and to here in Australia. No promise but I think I will continued my journey with this camera until I return it back to my friend, Aui Thonnakorn.

If you want to take a look on my photos, I uploaded some in this link http://cargocollective.com/nirintana/Exploring-the-World . Not so good ! but you all are very welcome to my album. :)
